President Buhari appoints new chief of staff.
Following the death of former Chief of Staff to the President Abba Kyari, who died on Friday, 17th April 2020 after battling with corona virus, President has appointed a new Chief of Staff to replace him with immediate effect. He is a Nigerian politician, diplomat and government official. Offices previously handled. He has previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1993 to 1995 under the government of General Sani Abacha. He was later appointed Minister of Internal Affairs from 1995 to 1997, and later became Minister of Power and Steel from 1997 to 1998 still under the administration of General Sani Abacha. The office of Chief of Staff in a federation is a very sensitive one which may not be left vacant for a very long period of time. Chief of Staff is someone who is closest to the President after the President’s wife. He’s the one whom the President entrusts some of his affairs without fear.
