Traders arrived at the Trade Fair Complex today to find that they’ve been locked out of their shops by the state government and this led to a protest outside the business area.

Traders who spoke to Infogist said they were not given any good reason why they were not allowed into their shops early on a Monday morning.

There were a number of speculations as to the reason why the complex was locked without prior notice, but nothing concrete.

As they waited outside the Trade Fair Complex, traders carried out a protest with placards as they asked to be allowed into their shops to conduct business for the day.
It was gathered that the Yorubas in collaboration with the Lagos state government being backed by the federal government are planning to take over the trade fair complex. The Tradefair which was built by the igbos is now being claimed by the yorubas.
