Anambra state government continues to remove mentally challenged people from the street as one of the ways of making the state clean.

In line with the directive by the Gov of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, to rid the streets of Anambra State, of mentally challenged persons.

The exercise continues this week, the taskforce saddled with the responsibility to sanitize the streets of the state, led by the Honorable commissioner for women and children affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, rescued a number of mentally challenged individuals from the streets of Awka and Amawbia.

A lot of people have asked the question, where are they taking to? Well the state government has the good living of every anambralian at heart both the weak and strong, the poor and the rich, the healthy and the sick. In reaction to that is good to know that the state government has a home for all mentally challenged persons which is located in Nteje anambra state. They are being taken good care of.

The few mentally challenged persons rescued this week, were cautiously relocated to home for the mentally challenged Nteje, where they will be rehabilitated, equip with skills and reunited with their family and society when they are certified cured. We applaud the state government for this wonderful act.
